I am an artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am passionate about painting a variety of realism subjects in oils.
Statement
After 20 years of portrait photography, I was inspired to transition to oil painting. I am captivated by moments that often pass quickly but are so striking they pull me out of life’s busy-ness and compel me to pay attention. These moments feed my soul, reminding me that the world is big and vast and made for me, stirring an intense feeling of wanderlust. But they also remind me that the simple things of here and now are often the most compelling. With light as a general theme when creating, I draw inspiration from my photos and memories from all aspects of my life, as well as from my travels.
